The company Agencja Nasienna Sp. z o. o. in Leszno is an organisation of the breeders of agricultural plants that was established in 2003 by 7 Polish breeding companies. Currently 34 breeding companies or companies owned by agricultural plants breeders possess, directly or indirectly, the shares in Agencja Nasienna.
About us
Our organisation represents the holders of the exclusive right to plant varieties (PBR) grown by Polish farmers. We support legal use of plant varieties protected with PBR and counteract infringement of the exclusive right, in particular the illicit trade of seed. Moreover, we act as an agent in the scope of farm-saved seed payments due to breeders from farmers (agricultural exemption, FSS). We also carry out controls of licensees, processors of harvested material and holders of agricultural land to verify the legality of their use of protected varieties.
The tasks undertaken by Agencja Nasienna serve to order the seed market in Poland, for the benefit of farmers, seed companies and breeders.
Education
To popularize among farmers the knowledge in the scope of legal protection of plant varieties and the rules of FSS privilege, Agencja Nasienna Sp. z o.o. carries on a number of information and educational campaigns throughout the country. We publish thematic publications in the agricultural press and on the Internet, we also prepare and distribute educational materials. We participate in conferences and provide training or lectures on the protection of exclusive right.
